Every day, buyers contact me asking the same question:
“I found a Toyota Levin for $2,000. Is it real?”
No. No, no, no.
If any seller tells you they can sell you a Toyota Levin or Corolla for $2,000, he is lying to you.
I’m Evan, and I work at Nansha Port — one of the biggest used car export hubs in China. I inspect cars in person every single day. I see the real prices, the real conditions, and the real scams. And I can tell you with absolute certainty: a $2,000 Corolla does not exist in this market. What exists is a $2,000 trap.
Let me explain how it works — and how to make sure you never fall for it.
Let’s do the math together.
A used Toyota Corolla or Levin — even a 2015–2018 model with high mileage — has a real wholesale cost at the port that is far above $2,000. Add to that:
Vehicle purchase cost
Inspection and reconditioning
Port handling and documentation
Export fees
Shipping preparation
No legitimate seller can offer a running, export-ready Corolla for $2,000. If someone claims they can, they are not selling you a car. They are selling you a story.
And the story always ends the same way: you lose your deposit.
Here’s the most common scam I see:
A “seller” posts a beautiful Corolla or Levin at an unbelievable price — usually $2,000 or similarly low.
He sends you photos and a VIN number.
You check the VIN online, and it looks clean. You feel safe.
He asks for a deposit — usually 30% to 50% — to “lock the car” or “start export paperwork.”
You send the money.
The car doesn’t exist. The VIN was fake, cloned, or belonged to a different vehicle. The seller disappears.
The fake VIN is the bait. It’s designed to make you feel like you’ve done your homework. But a VIN you can’t verify in person means nothing.
This is why my team and I operate the way we do:
✅ We check real VINs.
Not photos of VINs. Not screenshots. We physically verify the VIN on the vehicle, matching it to the chassis, the documents, and the export records.
✅ We inspect every car in person, every day.
I’m at Nansha Port daily. I see the car before you pay for it. I check the engine, the body, the interior, the mileage, and the paperwork. If it doesn’t match, you’ll know before your money leaves your hands.
✅ We give you the real FOB wholesale price.
No fantasy pricing. No bait-and-switch. Just the actual cost of the car at the port, plus transparent fees. If a price looks too low, it’s because someone is hiding something.
Before you send a single dollar to any seller, do these five things:
Never trust a price that’s far below market. A $2,000 Corolla is not a bargain — it’s a warning sign.
Demand a real VIN verification. Ask for a photo of the VIN plate on the car, not just a number typed in a message.
Ask for a live video inspection. A legitimate seller at the port can walk around the car on video call. A scammer will always have an excuse.
Never pay a deposit before independent verification. Once your money is gone, it’s gone.
Work with someone who is physically at the port. “Eyes and ears on the ground” is not a slogan — it’s your only real protection.
If you’re serious about importing a Toyota Levin, Corolla, or any other model from China, stop chasing $2,000 fantasies. Start with real numbers.
I’m Evan — your eyes and ears at Nansha Port. I inspect cars in person every day, verify real VINs, and give buyers the true FOB wholesale price.

Tell me the model you want, and I’ll tell you what it actually costs — and show you the car before you pay a cent.
A $2,000 Toyota Levin or Corolla is not a deal. It’s a scam with a nice paint job.
Don’t lose your deposit to fake VINs and fake sellers. Work with someone who stands next to the car, checks the VIN with his own hands, and tells you the truth — even when the truth costs more than $2,000.
That’s what I do at Nansha Port. Every day.
