Built on an updated MQB platform, it has grown 12cm in length with a longer wheelbase, increasing rear legroom and boot capacity to 475L — making it more practical for commercial duty while retaining its compact urban footprint.
Powertrain Options: 1.5 eTSI 48V mild hybrid (85kW / 110kW) / 2.0 eTSI 48V mild hybrid (150kW, 4MOTION AWD) / 1.5 Full Hybrid (100kW / 125kW)
Fuel Economy: 5.6–7.0L/100km (3P-WLTP), 95 RON petrol, 50L tank
Dimensions: 4,355 × 1,762 × 1,605 mm (WB: 2,651mm), 5-seat, 475L boot / 1,350L max
Cargo & Towing: 1,500kg braked towing capacity; 445L luggage (rear seats up)
All-Hybrid Lineup with 4MOTION AWD Option: The T-Roc is Volkswagen’s first model range offered exclusively with hybrid powertrains — 48V mild hybrid (1.5 eTSI / 2.0 eTSI) and a full hybrid system. The 2.0 eTSI 4MOTION delivers 150kW (204PS) for fleet operations requiring all-wheel drive.
Significantly Increased Practicality: 12cm longer body with extended wheelbase increases rear legroom and boot capacity to 475L (up from 445L in the previous generation); folds to 1,350L for cargo flexibility. Standard 1,500kg braked towing capacity meets commercial fleet requirements.
Next-Generation Digital Cockpit & Safety Technology: Available IQ.LIGHT matrix LED headlights, windscreen head-up display, Travel Assist with assisted lane changes, and Park Assist Pro with smartphone-controlled autonomous parking. The Proactive Occupant Protection System tightens front seatbelts and optimises windows in imminent collision scenarios.
Critical: The Volkswagen T-Roc’s previous-generation 5-star ANCAP rating (2017 protocol) expired on 31 December 2023 and has not been renewed. While the new-generation 2026 model features updated safety systems including Front Assist with AEB (pedestrian/cyclist monitoring), Lane Assist, and Proactive Occupant Protection, no independent ANCAP, Euro NCAP, or NHTSA testing has been completed for the 2026 model as of October 2026. ANCAP has stated that the model has not been made available for testing. Fleet buyers targeting ANCAP or Euro NCAP-compliant markets must verify compliance independently and note that the 2026 T-Roc currently carries no valid safety rating.
