The 2026 Zhengzhou Nissan Frontier Pro PHEV is Nissan’s first plug-in hybrid pickup, engineered for heavy-duty commercial work sites, agriculture, and off-grid operations. Developed by Zhengzhou Nissan under Nissan’s LCV R&D center in China, it is the first pickup designed, developed, and manufactured in China for global export under the Nissan brand, combining a 1.5T turbo engine with a high-output electric motor for a combined 320kW (435PS) / 800N·m. It is actively exported to Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East in LHD configuration.

Nissan’s First China-Developed Global Pickup: The Frontier Pro is the first Nissan-badged pickup designed, developed, and produced in China for global export, representing Nissan’s “In China, For Global” strategy. Over 900 units shipped to Latin America in July 2026, with export plans extending to Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Segment-Leading PHEV Performance: 320kW / 800N·m combined output and 135km pure electric range make it one of the most powerful PHEV pickups in its class; 6kW V2L supports on-site power for tools, drones, and emergency equipment.
Global Durability Validation & Safety Structure: Built on the “Star Core” global off-road platform with 70%+ high-strength steel body and 97% high-strength steel frame; passed 3 million km global durability testing. The PHEV battery features a “prevent, defend, block, drain” four-dimensional safety system with 3mm aluminum alloy underbody armor and 800mm wading depth.
Critical: The Frontier Pro PHEV is developed to C-NCAP 5-star standards with 70%+ high-strength steel body and 97% high-strength steel frame. Top trims include 6 airbags, AEB, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring. However, no independent ANCAP, Euro NCAP, or NHTSA ratings have been published as of October 2026. RHD adaptation is under consideration but not yet confirmed — RHD markets (Australia, NZ, Southeast Asia) would require an estimated 6-month engineering adaptation. Fleet buyers targeting ANCAP/Euro NCAP-compliant markets must verify compliance independently before volume orders.
LHD only confirmed. First batch of 900 units exported to Latin America in July 2026; export plans confirmed for Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Right-hand drive is under consideration for Australia and other RHD markets but not yet confirmed.
